Those were the days! The gaming industry then shifted to consoles and then the console evolution also began. Electronic Arts have their own sub-brand which specifically deals in games related to sports.
The EA Sports has had various games in the sports niche such as the NBA, FIFA and various other games, golf, skating, hockey, etc. in their kitty.
The company is one of the most experienced names in the world of sports. However, the one game that has been heavily popular for them is that of the EA Sports Cricket series.
The last official EA Sports cricket game came out in the year 2007. Since then there has been no new developments in the series, until now. Rumours are in the air that the company is going to release a new installment of the series, the EA Sports Cricket 2016. And the game was long overdue. The company hasn’t been developing new games in the series since a long time and the timing seems perfect now.
The last time the game came out, many names which have long retired now were still active. Names like Freddie Flintoff, Matthew Hayden, Adam Gilchrist, Shane Bond, Sourav Ganguly, Virendra Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar have all retired/gone from their national teams now. The new game is all set to feature the latest ashes tournament featuring the new and revamped English and Australian teams.
The theme of the game is supposed to be ‘a brave new world’ and it will also feature the Australian big bash and the Indian Premier League tournaments which have been quite the sensation. The new game will also feature the latest ICC rules which have just come in, where the batting power-play has been removed.
There is no official announcement by EA Sports, but if this is the truth, it will be a mighty change in the revolution of Cricket Gaming!

COULD BE THE GREATEST CRICKET GAME EVER
Certainly it could with the giants EA Sports. But the fact considering Cricket isn’t that popular as compared to other games like Football, NBA, the budget won’t be high. I expect bugs, but better graphics. We already have DBC14, let’s see if Cricket 16 could give a tough fight to that.
